The Meadows Elderly Housing Facility

- Fort Fairfield, Maine


The Town of Fort Fairfield had a need for housing for its growing elderly population. The Fort Fairfield Residential 

Development Corporation teamed with the Town of Fort Fairfield and the Maine State Housing Authority to fund a

new  housing facility. BRSA was retained to provide a full range of servies including a site survey, site permitting,

building design including civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical. The 25,000SF facility

consists of 25 1 and 2 bedroom handicap accessible apartment units. The building has a hydraulic elevator,

radon mitigation system,  secure access system and is fully sprinkled. 



Farm Credit of Maine Interior Renovation Project

- Presque Isle, Maine



Farm Credit of Maine retained BRSA's services to assist in an interior renovation project. Their facility had previously

been divided into two separate spaces in order to house an adjacent tenant. After that tenant vacated the space, Farm

Credit of Maine decided to consolidate the spaces back into one space entirely occupied by Farm Credit. Renovations

included the demolition of existing office space to create new offices and reception/lobby area. Other renovations

included new flooring throughout, new cabinetry, new plumbing fixtures, new lighting and other finishes. BRSA provided

bid phase and construction  phase assistance. 



The Fort Fairfield Health Clinic

- Fort Fairfield, Maine



 The Town of Fort Fairfield partnered with Pines Health Servies to build a new health facility. BRSA assisted with

conceptual drawings for a CDBG grant application and was retained to complete the full design upon receiving 

the grant. The 3,600 SF facility is wood framed on a concrete foundation. It includes physician offices, exams

rooms, a physical therapy room, a breakroom, a lab, reception/waiting area and restroom facilities. A full range of

services were provided including site design and building design including structural, architectural, mechanical

and electrical. BRSA also provided bid phase assistance and construction phase assistance, including contract

documents, submittal review and construction monitoring. The building is currently under construction and is

expected to be complete in the spring of 2013. 



Cornerstone Christian Academy

- Presque Isle, Maine 



 The Cornerstone Christian Academy had outgrown their previously leased space and purchased an existing

worship hall with the intent to renovate the existing building and build an addition to house their academy. BRSA

was hired to complete the site and building design. Drawings developed include building and parking layout,

renovations to the  existing worship hall, foundation plans, plumbing plans and full architectural design drawings

for the 8600 SF addition. The addition included 8 classrooms meant for grades Pre-K through 8, a daycare,

lunchroom, offices, storage, andrestroom facilities. BRSA provided construction management services as

requested by the owner and contractor during the bidding and construction process.



The Caribou Wellness & Recreation Center 

- Caribou, Maine 




 In the early 1980s, the City of Caribou constructed a recreation department building attached to the General

CarterArmory on Bennett Drive.   In 2001, the National Guard relocated to a new location and abandoned the

building. The City of Caribou retained BRSA to complete an assessment  of the existing armory building and

evaluate its potential for reuse. Ultimately, it was decided to demolish the structure and build a new community

wellness center in its place.BRSA developed the demolition plans and completed the design of the new facility

in conjunction with Doug Christopherson, Architect and Mechanical System Engineers. 


The Presque Isle Public Safety Building

- Presque Isle, Maine



The City of Presque Isle had an aging and dilapidated public safety facility that had many code violations. After

passing a referendum to construct a new facility, the City of PI retained BRSA to design a new code compliant

facility. The new faciltiy is 25,000SF and is framed with steel and CMU block. A flat EPDM roofing system was

installed. The building houses both the cities police and fire department. The police department portion of the

building incldues jail cells, a holding area, an evidence holding and processing area, patrol squad room, interview

rooms and several offices. The fire department includes 8 full apparatus bays, a wash bay, an exercise room,

and dormitory facilities including bedrooms, a living room, a dining room and kitchen.
